MeSH currently lists alpha 1-Antitrypsin Deficiency or Alpha (1) Antitrypsin Deficiency as the search terms to use, although the condition was referred to at one time as Alpha-1 Anti Protease and variously since then as α1-Antitrypsin Deficiency, α₁-antitrypsin deficiency, or AATD. PubMed can also be searched by author’s name, or scientific keywords.
